Lifeline Donates Life-Saving Trauma Kits to the Virgin Islands Police Department

CHRISTIANSTED, Virgin Islands–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lifeline Pharmaceuticals, LLC donated $3,000 earlier this month through its sister company, Lifeline Pharmaceuticals Caribbean, LLC, a U.S. Virgin Islands-based company, to Project Triage, a non-profit organization established by Christopher Howell, former Virgin Islands Chief of Police for the district of St. Croix. The donation is expected to fund the purchase of 50 trauma management packs (TMP) to be issued to VIPD officers.

In August 2012, Chief Howell and his partner were seriously wounded by criminals wielding high-powered weapons in a shootout after responding to a burglary call in Cane Bay. Luckily, Howell had purchased several TMP’S at a conference just months prior to this incident. While Chief Howell’s injuries would have most certainly resulted in death before EMS could respond to the scene, it is widely accepted among doctors that the self-applied use of a TMP saved Chief Howell’s life.
